The MCA varsity boys and girls basketball teams participate in the TCAL Regional Basketball Tournaments this weekend, Feb. 17^th & 18^th. 

The Guardian Basketball fundraiser last Friday night was a huge success.  The boys high school team competed against the men’s b team at the local Boys and Girls Club here in Marshall, TX. Halftime activities included 'Cream Fro' and mothers' free throw competition.

Both MCA middle school boys' and girls' basketball teams excel on the courts as they competed in CSAC tournaments.

 Make note of the following upcoming MCA Winter/Spring 2012 events and dates.

Benjamin Fugler, 2011 MCA graduate, recently completed his Air Force basic training and was in the news.

Guy Barr taught the 5th through 12th grade Spiritual Foundations class on becoming extractors of the faith and having an excellent spirit. Even a child is know by his deeds or his doings and must learn to sit at the feet of Jesus, hear His Words and become an diligent doer of the words he hears.

Trailing by eight points at halftime, Marshall Christian Academy made a frantic comeback in the final minute to post an exciting 32-31 win against Jefferson Christian in a non-district girl's basketball game Tuesday night.

Leah Lathem and Alex Bartee netted 12 points apiece to pace the Lady Guardians (1-1), who earned their first win of the year.

Alexia Berryman added six steals for Marshall Christian, which will travel to Bethel Christian on Friday.
 

Marshall Christian Academy earned at least a share of each superlative honor in the Texas Christian Athletic League's 6-Man All-District 4, Division II team, which was recently announced by league coaches.

Guardians' senior quarterback Zachary Lastra earned the league's Offensive Player of the Year, while senior linebacker Jared Shankle was named Co-Defensive Player of the Year.

Sharing the award with Shankle was Cleburne Christian's Chris Stanford.

Lastra threw for 516 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for 439 yards and seven scores.
